If you ever meet anyone who tells you enduring in a renovation is easy, they are either lying, have never gone through a renovation themselves or have been watching way too many home makeover shows that make the process seem far sexier than it actually is. Even the smallest of room makeovers and renovations comes with some aches, pains and unexpected twists, much like a good and memorable book. We definitely had our fair share of setbacks in our reno story, but are now incredibly excited to officially share our One Room Challenge Guest Bathroom reveal with you (we think we’ve kept you waiting long enough!).
To remind you of where we started, we’ll take you back in time to see the photos of what the room looked like before we started the challenge (there actually was no physical room at all!).
And without further ado, here is our new guest bathroom today! It’s almost hard to believe it started off as a small, forgotten corner in an unused space. We’ve included a list of sources below too.
One of the biggest highlights of this room is the shower curtain – a true statement maker! It looks just like a gigantic water colour painting of dancing florals and makes the room feel whimsical, soft and soothing…. major #bathroomgoals. This labour of love took about 4 nights worth of solid work, including a few take out dinners, some major elbow grease with the help of friends (you know who you are!) and lots of love to build. Totally worth it and the result…. a big panel of loveliness!
And because we love colour so, we couldn’t resist adding a small pop of pink by incorporating some fresh wildflowers from the garden to bring some more freshness to the space.

So, anyone want to come over and relax in this beauty? We are thrilled with the results and are excited to hear your thoughts on it too. Please feel free to make comments or ask any questions you have about our reveal – we love hearing from our readers and others who stumble across our page 🙂
Photos aside, we’ll also be sharing some of learnings and takeaways with you too in a later post this week. One of the great things about participating in the One Room Challenge by Calling It Home, has been the continued support and inspiration from all the other talented participants and bloggers who are also going through room transformations of their own. The knowledge we seem to accumulate through these experiences and can share with other readers, DIYers, decorators, designers, stylists, bloggers, etc – whether aspiring or veterans – helps drive design creativity to reach whole new levels. And with that, some big magic happens and inspiration keeps blooming! Big thanks to Linda – the woman behind the curtain from Calling It Home – for hosting another One Room Challenge adventure!
We are signing off with a great big smile today on all that we accomplished in this new nook of our home. We hope it brings you some inspiration as you tackle your own decorating and renovation adventures.
If you didn’t see the other reveals of this Spring’s One Room Challenge, be sure to check them out here. We’ll also be re-capping our favorite rooms and highlighting some design and decor trends in the coming days too. Lots of goodness to share and discuss!
Enjoy your day and the sunshine friends,
Jasmine & Marc, TBOH team
