The weather this past week has certainly been toying with us as we’ve been lucky to have +23 degree weather. It’s insane right? I love the heat but I’m actually ready for fall to grace us with her presence – common fall, where are ya?
In preparation for the temperature to supposedly drop this week, I’ve been dreaming of a good warm drink to cozy up with on cool fall mornings, as a pick-me-up treat to get me through the work day or act as a little dessert after dinner time. In honour of another #My5FallFavs (a 4-week series), I’ve dug high and low to curate a list of these 5 fabulous fall hot beverages (we call them bevies) you can sink into and try making right at home.
Step aside PSL, there are some new drinks in town! I’m all for a good pumpkin spiced latte, but sometimes it’s nice to give your wallet a break and get a little creative in the kitchen once in a while. There is a little something for everyone in this list and each recipe can be adapted in many different ways. Give them a try and let me know which ends up making it into your fall beverage rotation as a new favourite.
1) Snickerdoodle Latte
Snickerdoodle cookies were a great idea, so naturally, a latte version of this cookie is a winner too. No equipment needed, anyone can make this one! Hints of cinnamon and brown sugar will surely make you smile and sip until there’s no more.

2) Apple Cranberry Slow Cooker Tea
When fall hits, slow cookers are seriously my best friend. Not only are recipes a cinch because you just toss everything in and leave it to cook, but the smell overtakes your whole home making it smell ah-mazing for hours. A little tart and a little sweet, this one might be the perfect choice for larger family/friend gatherings or for reading fireside.

3) Maple Chai Tea Latte
Chai anything will always have my heart. This version is oh-so simple and healthy too. Add some whipped cream if you want to get fancy or a shot of espresso for an extra kick to get your mornings going.

4) Turmeric & Ginger Latte
This latte is bright, soothing and totally guilt-free! Turmeric is loaded with health benefits: anti-inflammatory properties, high antioxidants and phytonutrients. You may associate this spice mainly with curries, soups and sauces, but it’s shockingly wonderful in latte form. If you aren’t already, it’s time to get on the turmeric train!

5) Hot Buttered Rum
With origins that date back to the 1600’s, this classic American favourite has been a around for quite some time. Now-a-days, it’s evolved into a hot drink to enjoy and help combat cold winters. Spiked or virgin, this decadent drink is definitely going to be making an appearance at our home this fall.
